Quick Update

Hi everyone, Things have been crazy here and I have a few things going on at once. Just wanted to send out a few pictures of the things I have been working on.
I hope to finish my Iron Man costume for Halloween but it is a super time consumer. I have the helmet done with fiberglass just need to put some bond and paint on. We finished out new Logo for Ravens Art Gallery for the Reading Pet Expo.
I found this Knight in Armor on line for $30 and just had to have it. While at the show we met a new company that makes magnetic  boards and they want to use our art on them. I started a Goolie Girl collection in watercolor. So far so good I've sold one print from them and just need to list some more.

Trip to Paris

Just got back from Paris, it was a great chance to see art at it's finest. It was amazing to stand only a foot away from Van Gogh and Monet paintings. You could find art and artist everywhere, this is a picture from a small in town near De La Marine that had a square filled with artist.

Walking through the streets just makes you wan to paint. So things at home have been on hold for a week
but it's time to get back in the swing.
This cafe looked like a painting to me, even how the chairs and table are set up. I highly recommend the trip to everyone.

Halloween website I Found

One reason I love paper mache is because of Halloween. When I was young I started making costumes and ever since then I was hooked. Growing up we always went all out with decorations and had the best house in the neighborhood. I will always remember the two twins that lived on the street behind us, my mother scared them so bad one year they didn't come back to our house for candy till they were twelve.

Halloween Costumes (Singer Sewing Reference Library)

As kids we won so many costume contest we started driving to other towns so we could enter the contest with anyone knowing who we were. In the past three years I've been decorating my house and we live in a fairly new neighborhood so in the beginning  I felt like the only one who would go all out but this past year it was nice to see our block step it up a notch and make it more fun for everyone.

I signed up for this website last year called At first it was hard to find time to use it but since I have more time to myself now I started looking into it and I truly have to give it an A++

Great people, very friendly and helpful. It's nice to find people who like to talk about decorations and skeletons in Feb.

My plan this year for Halloween is to go all out and that means lots of work to do.

Keeping Up with the Listing

Today seemed like I was on the computer all day long, finding the time to paint and then list can keep you busy. I find it helps to schedule myself. At first I thought that I could just do it when I have a chance and keep up but with close to 100 listing and selling a few things along with trips to the post office.

The one good thing about having a job you goto is it slots that time of the day for you and there is only that work to do, when your home I find myself getting lost into fixing things and daily clean up.

The first thing was to put up a wall calendar and mark my work days down and
also so gave myself goals. As much as I disliked the corporate world I do guess there is a few good business models that can help.

So today was listing on Ebay, Etsy along with tweeting, most of the day in the office working. Now time to work on 10 more things for next week. I still need to put together a few videos for YouTube.

Brady Bunch Horse update

The Brady Bunch Horse is moving along, put the base on and added some structure to the body. After watching a few episodes from the DVD, we found out they have about three or four horses around the house.

We also watched the made for TV movie Growing up Brady based on the book from Barry Williams. It was a little depressing. It kind of took some of the magic away but we just popped in the original show and just like the Brady family everything was fine.

Dachshund Love By Seany Jones
I did get a few more watercolors done for the Keystone Dachshund Show in a few months. The plan for this week is to work on some
print blocks.

Up to my elbows in watercolors  Work day with my sister and all we did was work on watercolor prints.
We are going to try some artist blocks with the cut out prints. Mod-Podge Montage, Collage, Decoupage Kit
One thing we like to use is Mod-Podge or a water down mixture of Elmers Glue 50/50. Things have been slow but we should have a few things for the Chester County Art Association
You never know when someone is going to buy your art.

Brady Bunch Horse

Tuesday is project day with my sister. After finishing some watercolor prints we started watching old
Brady Bunch reruns and we started talking about the house they lived in, we even found a picture of the house on the internet, the one they actually used.

So we got the idea to make the statue of the horse they had in the living room. I Just got home and plan to list the watercolors on ebay and get to work on some sketches of the horse so we can build it out of paper mache. This should be fun and interesting, I wonder how may people can recognize it.
